CONTACT/COMMISSIONS Work is produced from the owners favourite photograph/s. The best results are achieved when the animal has been photographed without flash (which has a habit of destroying and distorting eye and coat colours and textures). Outdoor photographs are preferable, however it may be possible to use an indoor photograph for image if further outdoor photographs are supplied which captures or enhances the missing details. This would be discussed in more detail at the initial meeting. If possible I like to meet my “subjects” to get a feel for their character, however I find that a lot of my work is of deceased pets in which case I have to rely on the quality of the images provided. Thankfully I seem to have had a 100% positive response rate so far. As the response is often of tears, I recommend that it is so much nicer to have a painting done before your dear pet passes away so that when the time comes, it will immediately start to bring you comfort. (See TESTIMONIALS) Sizes: Painting sizes start at approximately 18” x 24” unframed. Framing: A framing service is available, offering a complete and professional range of materials, at very competitive rates, for your personal requirements. I prefer to hand over the paintings as a “ready to hang” item, particularly as pastel is an unstable medium, however this is not absolutely essential. Price: Head and shoulder portraits start at £200 unframed, full body portraits start at £225 unframed and will depend on the subject to be painted. Multiple images/sizing costs will depend on content and requirements.
